Give me that Damn Umbrella

Give me that Damn Umbrella

Yes, loc rockers are always bragging about their fearlessness against water. Be it rain, sleet, snow, the pool, the beach, or the steam room– doesn’t matter. Bottom line is that we dont care like we used to– BL( before locs)– about our hair getting messed up.

HOWEVER that doesn’t mean that I don’t need a damn umbrella! Seriously. Since I’ve become loc’d my daughter, especially, is always hogging the umbrella if we’re in the rain together with one umbrella. “Ma! You got locs!” She whines. “Your hair can get wet.”

Okay, yeah, my hair can survive some rain BUT that doesn’t mean that I just want to get all wet up all the time. You know, locs don’t keep anyone from getting pneumonia! Can I get an amen?

  1. I so agree with you on this. Why do some people think just because your hair is in it’s natural state <—my hair has been for yrs, just isn't in locs, that you should be singing in the dang gone rain without hair/head gear to protect it? Not! The easiest way to get a head cold is by leaving it unprotected from the elements.
